Parent's Status: Mother died when Sally was 10 years old. Her father was so broken up his wife's death, that he left Sally J (as she was called then) and the boys to fend for themselves. Sally's brothers took her under their wing and all roamed the island of Kauai as children of nature, cared for by the parents of their friends. Her mother was so well liked by the community that every adult became Sally's auntie or uncle.

Personal History: Sally Jane Wagner (Sal, SJ or Sally J, depending on the relationship, also Kale in Hawaiian) was born on Earth, on the island of Kauai. Her mother was of German decent, a tall big woman whose ancestors migrated to Hawaii for the warmer weather and to flee the unrest that was happening in Europe at the time. Her father was Hawaiian whose ancestors could be traced back to Samoa. He too was a large big man who loved life and had a deep hardy laugh, that is until his wife died, when he lost himself in his grief.

As a young child, Sally spent hours with her mother tending their garden. Her mother spoke of the trees, the flowers and the earth they grew in as if they were all living things interacting with each other in peaceful harmony. Nattily Wagner shared her love and the bounty she grew generously with their neighbors and friends. She was as often called Māmaka (meaning to grow in Hawaiian) as she was called Nat. Sally's youth was filled with laughter and love. She was taught generosity of spirit and how to cherish the land that provided for her and her family. That is until her mother's death. Her brothers tried to take her mind off the loss by taking her everywhere with them. They surfed, roamed the hills and became strong and tough.

Then at the age of 13, her father was transferred to the Utopia Planitia fleet yard on Mars. He felt his children had gone wild long enough and it was time for a more controlled environment. Besides everything he saw and heard reminded him of is missing wife. Mars was completely different and he was ready for a change.

The boys and Sally brooded for a while but each eventually found a niche and began to live again. For Sally, it was visiting the gardens and farms of the colony where she met Sileen's mother, Elizabeth Ley, who introduced Sally to her daughter, Sil.

There after Sil and Sal where inseparable, going on adventures and getting into places more off limits than in. As they grew into young woman, the two girls became more drawn to the Star fleet crews, especially the males, that took leave while their ships were being repaired. Sally was drawn to the larger stronger security officers and Marines, who reminded her of her brothers, while her friend, Sil, was drawn to the brainier science and tech types.

Both girls knew that adventure was in their future. Both remembered Earth fondly and both wanted more than the corridors of Mars colony. Something eventually had to change. So at the age of 20, both Sal and Sil announced that they were applying to Star Fleet Academy..

After graduation, Sally's first assignment was to the Marine contingent on Sierra 18, where she was immediately assigned to a covert operation. No details available.
